Hello Year 2,

We hope you are all well and have had a nice weekend with your families. Did you watch the whole school assembly last week? We hope you enjoyed it! Don't forget to send a picture of your ‘biscuits for the Tiger’ to us and we will put them on the school website!

This week in Phonics we are learning to read and spell contracted words such as I’m and couldn’t.  

In English this week we are learning to write different types of sentences and using commas in lists.  You will also be designing your own exciting playground!

In Maths, we are starting a new topic all about fractions.  Your lessons this week will focus on recognising and finding half and quarter of shapes, groups of objects and numbers.

In the afternoons you will be finding out about another amazing nurse called Mary Seacole, designing our own hand puppets, learning about Arctic and desert habitats and much more! There are also lots of links for fun PE ideas and optional daily well-being activities to complete if you would like to.

Remember you can also use RMEasimaths (which can now be used on iPads) and Reading Eggs/Reading Eggspress to support your learning.

We know that you are all working very hard, as always, the plan is here as a guide, please don't worry if you can't complete it all. This week we would like you to ask your Mummy or Daddy if you can email your Tuesday English and your Monday Maths work to us. We are looking forward to seeing how you well you are all doing.
