Chestnut Class - Mrs Chambers and Mrs Bajwa

Hello and welcome to Chestnut Class.

This is where you can find out about our achievements, view photos and discover the exiting things we have been learning and experiencing. Year 2 is a very busy year but we will be having lots of fun along the way!

Mrs Chambers and Miss Buttery are the Class Teachers and we are lucky to have two lovely LSA’s Mrs Barnett and Mrs Marron. We are a very happy, enthusiastic and hard working class who enjoy learning and playing together. We love extra help from parents or grandparents who may wish to come in and help in class or on school trips.

Our day starts with 10 minutes of quiet handwriting practice, followed by phonics where we learn letter sounds to help with spelling and writing. We then have an English lesson and after playtime we have Maths. In the afternoons we are taught the foundation subjects, including Science, Computing, Art and Design and Humanities.

We do P.E. on Wednesday and Thursday so please remember to bring in our kits on these days and it would be very helpful if every item is labelled as we often get in a muddle!

On a Tuesday afternoon we visit the Library, please remember to bring your book back so you can change it for a new one each week.

Every Friday we take home spellings to learn ready for our weekly spelling test the following Friday. We also have homework every week, this will be English or Maths work and will usually relate to what we have been learning that week. Homework will be sent home on a Wednesday to be returned the following Monday.

Thank you for visiting our class page, we hope we will see you again soon.
