Mrs McMann's Class
Welcome to Mrs McMann's Class!
Hello and welcome to 2SM's class webpage. We would like to give a very warm welcome to all of you who visit our page and view the things we do and achieve throughout the year.
There are 30 children in our class, along with Mrs McMann, the Class Teacher and Mrs Peck the class Learning Support Assistant. We are also very lucky to have Mr Leech with us every morning. Year 2 is a busy year and we have lots of fun whilst working hard to do our very best.
In the morning we have Handwriting, Phonics, Literacy and Numeracy followed by the foundation subjects in the afternoon. Every week we take home spellings to learn and on a Wednesday we get homework (Literacy or Numeracy based) which needs to be handed in on a Monday.
As a class we especially love doing Art and Design. In our classroom we have chalk drawings of 'The Poppy Fields' by Claude Monet proudly displayed on our wall. We created these as part of our History lessons based on Remembrance Sunday.
Recently, we also enjoyed taking part in scooter training, thanks to Mrs Aldred who ran the course and taught us how to be safe on the roads.
Lastly, as a class we enjoy striving to be worker of the week so that we can share our work in Celebration Assembly and get a special Head Teacher sticker! This week our 'Worker of the Week' is Ben Goodchild for his fantastic artwork. We wonder who it will be next time?
