Arts and Literacy Week
This year Arts and Literacy Week culminated in an amazing display of Art in our very own 'School Library'! Each class focused on a book including: The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Percy the Park Keeper, The Owl and the Pussycat, Oliver's Vegetables, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Alice in Wonderland! The children worked hard all week enjoying sculpture, printing, craft, paint, collage and much more.
During the week, a few members of the Dance Club led the whole school with Indian Dance. Pingalakshi Krishnan (1JW) led all the Year Groups and danced for a whole hour! Well done Pingalakshi!
Following a stimulus in our morning assembly, Literacy was taught with a whole school approach. The children participated in Drama during a '10 second picture'. They wrote an advert, a letter to the Prime Minister and created a School Banner.
We would like to thank all the parents who visited the classrooms in support of a magical week of Art and Literacy.
