Under the Sea

What a wonderful topic!  It has been very interesting, fun and exciting this first half term, as we have been learning all about Under the Sea.  We worked together and shared ideas at the start of this topic.  Miss Hayward then organised the learning from what we wanted to do!

We enjoyed looking at focus books every week and particularly enjoyed the rhymes in Commotion in the Ocean.  Our favourite story was Barry the Fish with Fingers!  This term, we have learnt to listen to rhyming words and continue a rhyming string.

We learnt lots about different sea creatures from non-fiction books and used metre sticks to measure the length of a Blue Whale.  It was longer than our classroom! We looked carefully at the features of different sea creatures and painted pictures of them.  We even used clay to make our own special fish.

We particularly enjoyed dressing up and creating our own 'Under the Sea' adventure 'shows', adding music and dance to the daily performances!

Thank you to everyone who shared their special Under the Sea resources with us!

We hope you enjoy looking at our photos.
