Milestones Museum of Living History

In November 2014, Year 1 children travelled to Basingstoke to visit Milestones Museum of Living History. We toured the old houses and homes from Victorian times and wartime England. We dressed up as Victorians and we were amazed to see that the toilet in one house was outside! We thought that this would be very chilly in the night!

While we were there, we walked along cobbled streets listening to the sounds of horses clip clopping along the road. We looked at a kitchen from 1940 where the work surface was a simple wooden table and the oven did not look like the one in our kitchens!

We had a great day eating lunch with our friends and finally visiting the shop. We have learnt so much today!
