Good Morning Year 2,

Today we will all be working from home due to the stormy weather. Here are the plans for today.

Phonics – learn the year 2 common exception words that were sent home last week in readiness for the test on 4th March.

English – Comprehension activity, please chose the one, two or three star sheet. Remember to write your answers in full sentences on a separate piece of lined paper.

Maths – This week we have been learning to tell the time to o’clock, half past, quarter past and quarter to. Please choose one or two of the time worksheets to complete, there is a poster to help you if you need it.

Afternoon

Winter Olympic Themed Activities: Here are some activities for you to choose from if you wish to!

  • Create a Winter Olympic Medal- Can you make a medal for the winner! You could draw it or make it out of materials.
  • Ice experiment- Leave an ice cubes in 3 places around your house. Where does the ice melt the quickest? Where does it melt the slowest? Why do you think this happens?
  • Make up an ice-skating routine- Choose a piece of music and pretend you are dancing on ice!
  • Watch some of the Winter Olympics- Talk about whether you would like to try the sport you are watching and explain you reasons for your answer.

Please be assured that if your child has not yet shared their book presentation with the class, they will have the opportunity to do so during the first week back after the holiday.

Stay safe and have a great half term,

Mrs Chambers and Mrs Edwards

xx
