The Chicks Arrive!

On Monday 27th February we were all very excited to see 11 eleven eggs in an incubator arrive at our school! On Tuesday during assembly the first chick hatched! It was an amazing sight! We have called it 'Pecky' because Mrs Peck was there and she is very good at talking to chicks... Watch the video clip and hear Mrs Peck have a 'conversation' with Pecky!!

When we arrived at school on Wednesday morning we had nine chicks! We transferred some to the warm box because the incubator was so crowded! At 8.30am the tenth egg hatched but the chick became stuck in the shell and it got very tired. Eventually the chick managed to emerge but it was a bit poorly so Miss Gordon (under the instruction of the chick professionals!) had to give it a massage! The chick soon made a recovery and we have called this one 'Gloria Gordon'! See the video clips below of the warm box and the final few in the incubator...
