We had a fantastic fishy time during our 'Finding Nemo' based Arts Week. Over the week we created lots of wonderful crafts that helped turn our classroom into an underwater world!
We created our crafts using lots of different techniques and materials; these included starfish with added popcorn kernels and lentils for texture, saldough 'Nemo' characters and of course our oceans in a shoe box and bottle (Miss Forsythe thinks these were our favourite creations of the week!).
Despite being so busy all week we also got the exciting opportunity to learn a 'Lion King' dance which Miss Pittman had created and kindly taught us. We learnt the dance with our other Year 1 friends in Oak Class, and then performed it as a whole school. It was a roaring success!
We were so proud of our underwater classroom and loved being able to show our parents, carers and school friends all of our hard work. We equally enjoyed experiencing all of the amazing work our other school friends had done - we felt like we had gone on a real adventure on our classroom tour through all of the different scenes!
Take a look below for some pictures taken from our Arts Week experience, we hope you enjoyed coming to see it!
