At Chalfont St Peter Infant School we believe that it is vital to know our child well, so that we can cater our teaching and learning to their needs. A central part of this is each child's North Star. This idea is based on a programme by Floyd Woodrow and it aligns to our vision and intent of wanting our pupils to be the best they can be and to achieve this by aiming high. The ultimate aim of this programme is for young people to identify their own North Star and for us to use this to provide a purpose and context for learning where possible. The North star is a dream, a hope, a job, a skill or an ambition and it requires hard work and commitment to achieve. The North Star sits on the horizon and no matter the obstacle it keeps drawing our children forward. This is how we would like our children to strive during their CSPIS journey. Staff and pupils are encouraged to have a north star and we work to help each other to reach these goals and pave the way for future success.
