The School Council have been very busy recently, deciding on how to improve our playground. Using the pupil voice, the children suggested that a new writing hut should be purchased and placed in the playground as the original hut was getting untidy and needed attention.
Of course, we would recycle the old writing hut into a play den and fully organise the new one with monitors in order to make sure all the pens and papers were tidied at the end of play times. Finally, after working with the PTA, the writing hut has appeared in the playground. Following our Green Flag code of practice, the new writing hut has been created from 11, 700 recycled milk cartons!!
On Tuesday 13th May 2014, the whole school watched Mrs Jones cut the ribbon to declare it open! The new hut has been named 'TJ's Doodle Den' in recognition of Mrs Jones' 20 years of dedication to and teaching for the children of Chalfont St Peter Infant School.
May there be many children for many years to come who venture into the Doodle Den to practise and enjoy writing and drawing with friends!
