Oak Castles

This week, in Design Technology, Year 1 classes have been learning all about castles. We have watched a video clip of a virtual tour around Windsor castle! We have labelled the parts of a castle and designed our own castles. We have used colouring pencils, felt tip pens and paints to add fine detail to our designs.

After the design, comes the next part of the process and that is the making... It is not always easy to find boxes for junk modelling but so many children have managed to create amazing castles and we have even seen one made from Lego! We have seen turrets and flags and we have seen wonderful ideas for a moving drawbridge! The ideas are innovative and Mrs West and Mrs Bagley have loved seeing all the photos.
