Miss Smith's Class
Welcome to Miss Smith's Class!
Welcome to our Reception class. Miss Kelly Smith is our teacher and we are known as class RKS.
Mrs Mary Leech is the teaching assistant who helps us in class. On Thursday afternoons Mrs Anne King takes us for music and PSHCE.
Last term we learnt about ‘Fabulous Food’ and we looked at some ‘Amazing Animals’. Next term our topics are ‘Under the Sea’ and ‘Space’.
We believe that the Early Years lays the foundation for the future development in school life. The Early Years staff work collaboratively and are committed to help each child achieve their full potential. Play underpins the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage, along with a balance of child-initiated and
adult-led activities.
Our Day:
9 – 9:15am – Register, daily board and visual timetable
9:15 – 9:45am – Phonics
9:45 – 10:30am – Literacy and Numeracy groups
10:30 – 10:45am– Assembly
10:45 – 11am – Play time and Snack time
11 – 11:45am – Group time and Choosing
11:45 – 12am – Story/Singing
12 – 1pm – Lunch time
1 – 2:45pm – Knowledge and Understanding of the World
and Creative activities
2:45 – 3pm – Story/Singing
3pm – Home time
On Wednesday we have PE and ICT in the morning and on Thursday we have music and PSHCE in the afternoon. Please remember to label your child’s PE kit!
