Pine Class - Miss Pitman

Welcome to Pine Class

Miss Pitman is our class teacher and Mrs Mellors, Mrs MacLennan and Mrs Kavanagh are our Learning Support Assistants. On Tuesdays, Mrs Golding teaches us.

Our school day starts with morning activities such as mark making, fine motor and construction activities. We then have a Phonics lesson where we learn letter sounds that will help us to read and write. We follow the planning from Little Wandle Letters and Sounds.

Each morning there are small group sessions where we learn something new in Literacy. The classrooms and outdoor classrooms challenge us to learn a little more and we are encouraged to find things out for ourselves!

In the afternoons, we have our Maths lessons and continue to explore and expand our knowledge through play. Every day we finish with a story, songs or music. You can find out more about our daily routine and timetable here.

On Thursdays we have P.E and on Fridays we have Forest Friday and Curiosity Hour.

Our days in Pine are filled with learning in a playful, exciting way. We explore, discover, experiment, investigate and communicate. We respond to the children's interests, needs and what is happening in the world around them. Our teaching and learning is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage - recognising every child is unique and that children develop in the context of relationships and the environment around them.

Thank you for visiting our class page! Please see tapestry for lots of lovely photographs of your children.
