Maths Activities

Children learn about maths through play and their daily experiences. The more meaningful to them and hands on it is, the better. Being able to count verbally to at least 20 will be a great benefit to a child starting school.

•Practise counting up to 20 forwards.
•Count anything and everything.
•Teach your child what numbers mean by counting the same quantity of things ie: 3 plates, 3 spoons, 3 forks.
•Talk about the shape size of objects, e.g: big car, little car, the plate is a circle etc.
•Start to learn number recognition.
