Willow Class - Miss Thompson

Miss Thompson is our class teacher and Miss Ridgley and Mrs Postles are our Learning Support Assistants. On Mondays, Miss Ridgley teaches us all day.

Our school day starts with Finger Gym activities. We come in and find an activity to support our Fine Motor Skills. We then have a Phonics lesson where we learn letter sounds that will help us to read and write. 

Each morning there are small group sessions where we learn something new in Literacy. The classrooms, big room and outdoor classroom challenge us to learn a little more and we are encouraged to find things out for ourselves!

In the afternoons, we have our Maths lessons and continue to explore and expand our knowledge through play. Every day we finish with a story, songs or music. You can find out more about our daily routine and timetable here.

Our days in Willow involve learning in an exciting and playful way. We explore, discover, experiment, investigate and communicate. We respond to the children's interests, needs and what is happening in the world around them. Our teaching and learning is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage - recognising every child is unique and that children develop in the context of relationships and the environment around them.
