On Monday 4th March 2013, we were very excited to that 11 eggs arrived at school. At 09.05 on Tuesday 5th March the first chick hatched!!! The second chick hatched in the morning and we were all excited to visit at 3pm. Although they were only six hours old, the chicks were already fluffy and walking around, although they were a bit wobbly!
During the night 8 more chicks hatched! We were amazed to see them all when we arrived at school on Wednesday morning. All the classes went to visit and many of us got to hold a chick. Look at our pictures below....
On Thursday 14th March, we said a fond farewell to our chick friends as they all had feathers and they were starting to flap about rather a lot! We hope we can see some more chicks next year!
We would very much like to thank the PTA for funding such an wonderful experience for all the children and staff. It was amazing to see the chicks hatch and grow so fast!
The first chicks are born!
