Tiggywinkles

Tuesday 22nd May

Today with great excitement we visited the famous Tiggywinkles animal hospital as part of our topic on animals.

We learnt how they look after injured animals and help them back into their natural environment. Those animals that are not able to survive in the wild are looked after at Tiggywinkles. We saw hedgehogs, badgers, polecats, deer, red kites, kestrels, tortoises, ravens, baby ducks and so much more.

We were lucky enough to watch the polecats being fed and have a talk about hedgehogs. Did you know a hedgehog has 5000 spikes?

We all had so much fun in the sunshine and would like to say a special thank you to Tiggywinkles and to all the parents that accompanied us on our trip to make the day so memorable.
