Nowruz!

We are very grateful to Mrs Noble who visited our school to teach us all about the annual celebration of Nowruz! This important time is when people in Iran celebrate New Year. They welcome a cheeky character called 'Haji Firooz' who dances and sings to herald the start of New Year. The people adorn their homes with decorations depicting 'new life' including painted eggs!

Year 1 children were very interested in the facts surrounding this celebration in a country that is very far away to Chalfont St Peter. Everyone was excited to design and decorate their very own egg for Nowruz!
