Hello Year R,
We hope you are enjoying the sunshine and liked the activities from Arts and Literacy Week! We have loved seeing all your photos in the Virtual Art Gallery.
This week we begin our new topic of Animals, this week we will be learning all about dinosaurs. In Maths you will learn how to subtract numbers and in Literacy you will be writing a set of instructions.
It is World Book Day on Thursday 4th March so look out for some fun activities on the Weekly Planner!
The theme this year is 'Share a story'. Here is a link to 'Share A Story Corner' videos
https://www.worldbookday.com/share-a-story-corner/ where you can find familiar characters, easy to follow stories, and tips for reading together. Look at the pictures, guess what the characters are up to and think about what might happen next. Sharing stories boosts creativity and imagination, improves wellbeing, is a positive experience everyone! – and is great fun!
There is also a link to ‘World of Stories Audiobooks’ to listen to https://www.worldbookday.com/world-of-stories/
Take part in our Reading Challenge created to encourage reading at home and find lots of exciting ways you can share stories – not just at bedtime! Tick off a Reading Star each time you complete a reading task and receive your World Book Day certificate when you complete all 12 challenges! Please email a photograph of your completed Reading Challenge and you will receive a Reading Challenge certificate when you return to school.
Finally, look out for the World Book Day Rainbow on Thursday to hear lots more exciting stories!
As always, the plans are here as a guide, please don't worry if you can't complete it all.
We miss you lots and look forward to seeing you next week!
