Science Week

At the end of last term 1JOW enjoyed becoming scientists as part of Science Week. As you can see it was lots of fun. We started the week by watching a theatre performance about health and fitness, learning how to get our five a day!

We made a chicken sound with some wool and a plastic cup; it was great fun turning them into chickens.

This is what happens when you put Mento’s into a bottle of diet cola! We investigated which fizzy drink made the biggest explosion, thinking how to make it a fair test.

We made our own play dough to create volcanoes. We used baking soda and vinegar to make them erupt.

The animal show was fantastic. Owls flew over our heads and we saw animals from all over the world. Some of us got the chance to hold the animals including a snake, meerkat, frog, sugerglider, giant millipede and even a baby crocodile!

Mr Bird taught us how to make amazing bubbles in the bubble workshop.
