The School Day

School starts at 8.50 am

School finishes at 3.00 pm

The School gates open at 8.40 am where a teacher and Learning Support Assistants are on duty. The gates close at 8.50 am and the register is taken straight away. If your child is late, they should arrive via the School Reception; the Late Book, which is situated in the entrance foyer, should be completed.

08.50 - 09.00        -         Busy work and welfare chats

09.00 - 09.30        -         Phonics

09.30 - 09.45        -         Assembly

09.45 - 10.45        -         English or Maths

10.45 - 11.00        -         Morning Break

11.00 - 12.00        -         English or Maths

12.00 - 13.00       -          Lunch

13.00 - 15.00       -          Science, Humanities, The Arts, Physical Education, Golden Opportunity Time, Reading  

15.00                  -          Home time

The school day for Reception children is flexible with much time spent in creative free flow, with teachers facilitating learning. They share a lunch hour with Key Stage 1 children and have phonics daily. 

We have submitted our opening times to The Local Authority and in line with the Government's Non Statutory White Paper 2022 we have reviewed the hours offered. As a small infant school our opening times reflect the need to accommodate travel time for our families who drop off and pick up siblings from local junior schools, many of them walking due to the lack of easy access parking in our residential area. We ensure that every moment in school is used to its best, gaining maximum impact from all the opportunities and activities.
