Welcome to Willow Class! Miss Thompson is our teacher and Mrs Richards, and Mrs Postles are our LSA’s. On Thursday's Mrs Golding teaches us.
First thing in the morning we work on our fine motor skills and then complete our phonics lessons. We use the Little Wandle Letters and Sounds scheme where we learn how to read and write. After Phonics we take part in the daily mile which helps get our brains ready for our next lessons!
We have 10-minute Literacy inputs where we read stories, poems and letters and complete tasks in small groups. The rest of the class take part in free flow for the rest of the morning where they have the opportunity to lead their own learning.
In the afternoons we have a Maths lesson where we learn new skills and have more chances to direct our own learning. At the end of the day, we sing songs and read different stories.
On Tuesday mornings we have our P.E sessions and on Friday's we have Forest School and Curiosity Hour.
Our days in Willow are filled with learning in a playful, exciting way. We explore, discover, experiment, investigate and communicate. We respond to the children's interests, needs and what is happening in the world around them. Our teaching and learning is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage - recognising every child is unique and that children develop in the context of relationships and the environment around them.
Thank you for visiting our class page! Please see tapestry for lots of lovely photographs of your children.
