The Owl Experience

Following a week of reading the inspirational book 'Owl Babies' by Martin Waddell, Year 1 children welcomed Mr Bob Morley to our school. Mr Morley brought three owls with him! Spike, Gizmo and Archie were wonderful real live owls who enjoyed a very nice flight around our School Hall!

The children took turns to place their hands in a large, leather glove helped by Mrs West and Miss Forsythe. Mr Morley called the owls and they flew to our hands! It was a magical experience!

After the flight, the children were invited to participate in an observational drawing lesson where everyone tried their very best to draw the detail of the feathers and the heart shaped face of Archie.

This was an amazing experience and one which the Year 1 children will remember forever. Many thanks to the PTA for funding this wonderful opportunity.
