Year R Communication Week

Year R have had a very exciting week, they have been taking part in the Bucks Communication Week. They have joined in two zoom calls, one with David Litchfield who wrote ‘The Bear and the piano’ and one with Guilherme Karsten who wrote ‘Are you a hungry monster?’. During both calls the authors read their books and taught us how to draw the main characters. They have also been ending each day with family members being invited in to join in with activities such as a bear hunt, making and flying kites, teddy bears picnic, sharing stories and a Chitty Chatty Tea Party. They also had a special Show and Tell session where they brought in a word and taught it to the class! Thank you to all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and other friends and family who have joined us each day! Finally, throughout the week they have been taking part in a sponsored listen! Both classes aimed to read 100 books and in total, Year R have listened to 254 stories throughout the week!
