Welcome to Pine Class!
Miss Pitman is our class teacher, Mrs Mellors, Mrs Barnes and Mrs Kavanagh are our Learning Support Assistants. On Tuesdays Mrs Ireland teaches us.
Our school day starts with morning activities such as mark making, fine motor and construction activities. We then have a Phonics lesson where we learn letter sounds that will help us to read and write. We follow the planning from Little Wandle Letters and Sounds.
Each morning there are small group sessions where we have our I'm a clever writer lessons. In the Autumn term we focus on our prewriting skills and letter formation before writing words and captions in the Spring Term and sentences in the Summer Term. The classrooms and outdoor classrooms challenge us to learn a little more and we are encouraged to find things out for ourselves!
In the afternoons, we have our Maths lessons and continue to explore and expand our knowledge through play. Every day we finish with a story, songs or music.
On Thursdays we have P.E in Autumn 1 and then from Autumn 2 it is on a Tuesday. On Fridays we have Forest School and on Fridays we finish our week with Curiosity Hour!
Our days in Pine are filled with learning in a playful, exciting way. We explore, discover, experiment, investigate and communicate. We respond to the children's interests, needs and what is happening in the world around them. Our teaching and learning is underpinned by the Early Years Foundation Stage - recognising every child is unique and that children develop in the context of relationships and the environment around them.
Thank you for visiting our class page! Please see tapestry for lots of lovely photographs of your children.
