  • Choir on Tour - Feast of St Peter!

    Sun 26 Jun 2016

On Saturday 25th June, the KS1 Choir went to share their talent with the wider local community. We all sang on stage to an audience of hundreds! We looked very smart in our red school uniforms and all our parents were very proud.

Our voices rang around Gold Hill Common as local people walked around the many stalls in the sunshine. Thank you to all the parents who brought their children to participate in this memorable occasion.

  • Yo Ho Ho Pirates!

    Sun 26 Jun 2016

On Friday 17th June we welcomed Rainbow Theatre Company who came to perform 'The Jolly Roger'! Year 1 had been learning about Pirates all week and today we became one! There were pirates everywhere!

We ran through the school to everyone's delight! We ran into the office and into Ms Cornes room! In the afternoon we had a treasure hunt and walked the plank!

Thank you to all the parents who helped us to dress up and to the PTA for funding the cost of Rainbow Theatre Company. See class pages for more photos....

  • Shortenills - Chestnut Class!

    Thu 16 Jun 2016

Hooray! We have been at Shortenills having a wonderful time! Luckily the weather has not been too bad and we have even had a little sunshine peeping through the clouds!

Last night was a first night and after a story, we all went to sleep a little bit late!!! This morning we all woke up a little bit early!!!!!

Today we have been to a teddy bear activity where we have made shelters in the woods. The food is lovely and we are all eating well. Hot chocolate for supper is the best!

Our beds are comfy and the dorm is so much fun as we are with all our friends!

Take a look at the photos that Mrs West took when she stayed with us last night...

  • Shortenills - Beech Class!

    Mon 13 Jun 2016

Yippee! The day has finally arrived that Beech Class have arrived at Shortenills Environmental Centre! This morning many excited children began their stay on a residential experience away from home!

After making beds and unpacking, we had a pizza lunch with yummy wedges. Lots of us had a second helping! Then we all got ready to go orienteering. We had to work together to find markers on the trees; it was a challenge but we were all excited to finish the course.

Unfortunately, it was raining. Well actually, it was really raining! It really didn't matter to us though because we were with our friends having the best time ever!

In the evening we had some free time before tea where we were drawing and laughing in our dorms. For tea, we had sandwiches, salad and jacket potatoes. We will all have a turn at serving our drinks and we are enjoying sitting together to chat.

Have a look below at the photos that Mrs West took. As you can see, we love Shortenills!!!
