  • Harvest Festival

    Fri 25 Oct 2019

Today was Harvest Festival. We welcomed many parents and grandparents to our school to listen to poems and songs for Harvest. The whole school and the Choir sang with thanks for all the gifts of food that we are lucky enough to receive.

We would like to thank all parents and friends who so generously donated to Padstones. This is a residential home for teenagers and adults to gain support when living outside of their home environment.

The speaker was so happy to speak on behalf of the residents of Padstones and she shared how great the impact of our gifts would be for the young people who are less fortunate that ourselves.

Thank you again for giving so generously to this worthy cause.

  • Reindeer!

    Thu 24 Oct 2019

Today it felt like Christmas in October! We all excitedly wore our Christmas jumpers to welcome two real reindeer to our school. Even though it poured with rain, none of us even noticed!

We stroked the reindeer and we all fed them if we wanted to. We found out that they were so gentle and they had been rescued from Scandinavia. It was an amazing sight to see the reindeer in our playground!

Thank you so much to the PTA for funding this experience for all children in our school. Watch out for the photos that were taken...

  • 'Owl Day' in Year 1

    Fri 11 Oct 2019

Today was a very exciting day for all Year 1 children...it was 'Owl Day'. The children in Oak and Elm Classes were starting a week of English studying the book 'Owl Babies' by Martin Wadell.

As the children were also learning non-fiction facts about Owls, Mrs West arranged for Archie the Barn Owl and Gizmo the Small Owl to come to our school.

Year 1 were amazed to see live owls silently swooping above their heads! In the afternoon, the children were invited to try observational drawings using soft art pencils. They learnt about line, form, tone and shading. There were some brilliant owls sketched!

Thank you so much to the PTA for funding such a memorable opportunity. Take a look on the Year 1 Class Pages for more photos...
