‘Make a Zoo Day’ – where we collected animal toy donations for children to use for small world play on the playground at lunchtime. Thank you so much for your fabulous donations – look at the zoo we made! Thankyou eco- council for helping Mrs West sorting them all out! We look forward to giving them all a permanent new home in our outdoor resources shed.
Thank you for all your donations for Children In Need today. We raised a wonderful £392.00 which will be sent straight to the charity. Thank you also to Pudsey who took time out of his busy schedule to visit us all this morning and in again for celebration assembly.
Year One had a wonderful afternoon on Monday when Grandparents visited with some of the toys they played with when they were young. All of the children loved investigating and playing with the different toys and were keen to see how they were different from the toys of today. They were extremely respectful, asked thoughtful questions and spoke potitely to all of their visitors. A huge thank you to all of our delightful grandparents who took the time to visit us, and to Mrs West who brought in a number of old toys to share with the children back in class!
Year 2 walked to Chalfont St Peter Parish Church to see the war memorial and poppy wreaths which had been laid on Remembrance Sunday. They also took their sketch books to draw war memorabilia inside the church. Mr and Mrs King told them all about the importance of Remembrance and showed them letters from soldiers in the war as well as some clothes that they may have worn. To end the session they all created a poppy wreath together which they have brought back to school.
We are very proud of our school councillors who walked through the village for the Celebration of Remembrance in their uniforms and poppies. They walked down the high street in the parade before laying a wreath at the memorial.

Thank you so much to all the parents who attended our first ‘Come and Learn with me’ session on Reading. It is always so beneficial to share with you our teaching in school and we love being able to give you a little window on your child’s day with us here in school. What a fantastic buzz there was in school as the children excitedly shared their books with their family – it was delightful!
